Situated in the Old Gundagai Post Office, a beautiful 1880's Victorian Period structure with a timeless façade, the Sheridan Room is Gundagai's unique and iconic event venue, hosting private dinners/functions, high teas, stage shows and live music in a setting of relaxed elegance.
The Sheridan Room is your premier Riverina entertainment destination providing a safe, family-friendly and intimate multifunctional space for clients to hire for private functions, including milestone birthdays and small weddings (max 40 including bridal party) in a rural setting, as well as conference and business events (for more details see Room Specifications).
The Sheridan Room stages entertainment events of a high standard for the general public to enjoy. In addition to local and touring acts, your showroom hosts Verity and Michael, research, write and perform original shows featuring live vocal selections of material from the 50's and 60's capturing the spirit and tradition of the golden age of popular music. In-house productions review the songs of iconic artists from the golden age period like Perry Como (including his Christmas shows), Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Ray Price, Frank Sinatra (his swing Capitol years) and Matt Monro. Employing modern audio-visual techniques our shows are designed to entertain a sophisticated audience are uplifting and family-friendly.
The owners of the business are highly experienced in the entertainment and WH&S industries and are very aware of the need for safety. Patrons are responsible for behaving in a manner that does not interfere with the safety and enjoyment of others (see Conditions of Entry). The Sheridan Room is designed to support disabled persons with access and egress via a purpose built ramp as well as wheelchair and ambulant toilet facilities. In general, our on-premises liquor licence does not allow the sale of liquor after midnight.
The Sheridan Room is well within the range of day trippers from Canberra, Wagga and Albury.
